As a provider of freight services to some of Australia’s largest manufacturers and retailers, Cameron Interstate were in need of a modern and efficient space to house its operations in Edinburgh Parks, South Australia. The purpose-built, $3 million logistics and freight transfer facility is an excellent example of Tandem Building Group’s concept-capital-construct business model. Designed especially to accommodate Cameron Interstate’s operations, the facility incorporates some 6,200 sqm of high clearance warehouse, awning and corporate office accommodation with future expansion mezzanine. Also included is a 20 metre cantilevered canopy, significant external concrete hardstand area, recessed loading docks and sprinkler fire protection. Combining cutting edge design with environmental sustainability, the project includes water sensitive urban design and stormwater re-use schemes. Adding to the environmental initiatives already included within the development, Cameron Interstate incorporated C-bus building management into the facility, to reduce operational expenses and power usage.
