We have really enjoyed working with Tandem on multiple projects. Through thorough planning and clear communication the entire project team worked collaboratively to deliver the clients vision into a quality well-built product. We would highly recommend them on future projects.

Tandem Building Group was appointed by Essendon Fields to manage the design and construction of the heritage listed Hangar 85 Building. Contract works included finalising the design, obtaining heritage and necessary authority approvals, including the Airport Building Controller. The heritage works included façade and roof repairs, new entry doors, including restoration works to the stairwells and entry foyers. A full strip out including hazardous materials removal was carried out prior to undertaking footing and slab remediation works, as well as the installation of a new lift shaft within the office building. New building services including a full mechanical, fire, electrical and security system upgrade was carried out and warm tenancy shells provided. The works also included a restoration of the full hangar floor, including preparation and application of the new epoxy flooring. This unique project honours the history of this building and importantly working collaboratively with the special authorities to align the past to the present. The team at Tandem were proud to deliver a project that melded the technical and historical, to produce a contemporary place of aviation and a new future for Hanger 85.
