Exciting developments are underway on the KONGSBERG project site in Mawson Lakes as the team have commenced install of the feature precast concrete panels! The finish of these panels has been meticulously designed to replicate the stone face of the fjords found in Norway where Kongsberg originated from.
The process of creating these feature panels began with purchasing a raw product from Germany, which was then shipped to Melbourne where it was 3D printed to create a mould for the proposed panel face. For the final leg of the journey, this 3D printed template was transported to United Precast’s yard where it was laid onto the precast bed and concrete was poured onto it – shaping the distinctive panels that will be a defining element of this building.
