Having never been involved in a refurbishment project before the JB Hi- Fi team were unsure of what to expect throughout the process. However, from the beginning stage, through to construction and handover TANDEM went above and beyond to put our minds at ease and deliver on their promise from the outset. The team’s commitment to delivering under budget, whilst maintaining time and quality expectations were outstanding. We’re extremely proud of the end result, having successfully made the transition into our new head office with ease.

Tandem Building Group successfully delivered the JB Hi-Fi Group Headquarters project at 60 City Road, Southbank - encompassing 9 levels of the IBM Tower. The 9,500m2 fit out reached Practical Completion in April 2019.
One of the key design aspects of this project, was the new internal staircase, connecting the Podium level up to level 6. The staircase was JB Hi-Fi Group’s most valued feature as it was intended to create a sense of connection amongst the levels and encourage collaboration between the separate business departments.
The staircase required comprehensive architectural input and structural engineering as the existing concrete slabs were not consistent in design and the slab-to-slab heights varied significantly across the levels. With a short construction programme, TANDEM gained approval to engage a reputable stair contractor who assisted in the design phase, undertook early site measures and produced detailed shop drawings for market pricing. TANDEM’s proactive initiatives helped drive the projects success and completion by the client’s required date.
