As the first ever build of this specific Bunnings design, this project was a hallmark of meticulous planning and positive stakeholder engagement. Tandem were agile in their delivery and displayed a commitment to effective solutions over the project course. Working with the team at Bunnings on this landmark build has been a success of collaboration. This has seen a great result on the ground and has been the start of a positive working relationship. The site chosen for this Bunnings bulky goods warehouse and retail outlet in Adelaide’s inner south-west presented diverse and significant challenges for its delivery. It had been used over many years as a multi-use industrial site, making remediation work and environmental considerations a fundamental starting point. Furthermore, as the first ever build of this specific Bunnings design, the project has required meticulous planning and management, with additional challenges coming from its sheer size – spanning an entire block and its location on a main arterial road. The fully elevated building has a 20KPA floor load capacity. Traffic management, power lines and intersection modifications, including a slip lane and traffic signal modification are just some of the challenges that have been managed during its delivery. Despite the challenges, Tandem Building Group worked closely with Council to ensure approvals and timeframes were met. Strict delivery timeframes and specifications were set to maintain progress, as well as to ensure the client was kept informed and updated – an approach which resulted in a high level of client satisfaction.
