The $19 million fitout and base building upgrades of the 30 year old Riverside Centre in Adelaide’s CBD involved Tandem Building Group demolishing and refurbishing office and base building areas over 11 floors, whilst being fully occupied. Tandem Building Group collaboratively worked with the building owner, The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) and State Government tenants to successfully stage and complete the refurbishment works without disruption to the end users. Over 25,000 square metres of refurbishment works were carried out and included construction of new Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) facilities, building services upgrades, building finishes, new tenancy fitouts and atrium works to ensure compliance with current codes and standards. The project was completed by way of an open book Managing Contractor Agreement which ensured the best value for money for the building owners and the State Government.
